Francisco Meirino ‎– The Process Of Significance (4xCD Box set)

This extended study of the grandeur of failure and its significance is the culmination of 12 years worth of meticulous audio work, remastered in all its brilliant detail, presented together in one lavishly designed box set. An absolute must for fans of masterfully crafted audio design, Musique Concrète, modern composition, and more,  the box set—packaged in four separate digipaks and housed in a bespoke box— includes long out of print albums “Anthems For Unsuccessful Winners,” “Recordings Of Voltage Errors, Magnetic Fields, On-Site Testimonies & Tape Tension,” “Notebook (techniques of self-destruction)” and “The Ruins.” And also, a 24-page booklet features liner notes written by Jim Haynes.

Born in 1975, Francisco Meirino has been active since 1994 in experimental music and live performance.  Working mainly with the computer, modular synthesizer, reel-to-reel tape recorders, magnetic fields detectors, piezo transducers, field recorders, and various home-made electronics, Merino’s music explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure.  His primary interest is in the idea of recording what is not supposed to be: gear failures, the death of PA systems, magnetic fields, and electro-static noises, and in how he can use them and hear them radically out of context. Meirino’s music is fascinating with its physical intensity and detailed precision.
