Series II. Jazzkammer is the joining of two Norwegian composer/musicians: John Hegre and Lasse Marhaug.
John Herge is a guitarist, improviser and composer who’s been making music for over 15 years, though only lately has his work found it’s way to CD. John plays guitar in Der Brief, a band often compared to Supersilent. Der Brief started in 1994 finally making their CD debut in 99 with “Volume” on Jazzassin Records. John is also in Kaptein Kaliber, a project in the trip-hop/club-pop scene. He also plays in Public Enema, a hardcore-improv two-piece act. John has done commisioned music for theatre and works as a sound-engineer.
Lasse Marhaug has been working within the noise/experimental underground for 10 years now. He is credited to being involved in over 100 cassette, vinyl and CD releases, playing numerous live concerts and taken part in countless collaborations. Besides a huge amount of solo work, Lasse was in the punk/scum band Origami Replika for two years playing concerts all over Europe, including opening for Einsturzende Neubauten. He’s been with the band Del since 1997, gaining respect in the lo-fi/post-rock scene. He’s also done soundtrack work and had a track with Alexander Rishaug on “Love Comes Shining Over the Mountains” (Rune Grammofon RCD 2012). Lasse runs the Jazzassin Records label and works as a graphic designer.
